Morzine is situated in the centre of the world-renowned Portes du Soleil ski area — not only the world's largest ski destination but also one of its very best. With 650km of skiable piste right on your doorstep, you won't run out of places to go and things to see.

A resort that has it all in the middle of Portes Du Soleil? Yes Yes Yes!

For Beginners

For beginners, a local area lift pass will give you plenty to keep you occupied. This will get you over to the neighbouring and beginner-friendly resort of Les Gets, but won't include Super-Morzine or Avoriaz in the other direction. Ski schools in Morzine are excellent for skiing and snowboarding alike.

For Intermediates / Advanced

For more experienced skiers and those looking to explore into further reaches, the full-area Portes du Soleil lift pass will give you access to the full 650km, taking you all the way to Switzerland and back in one day. If you're feeling brave, advanced skiers with a head for heights can attempt the famous and infamous "Swiss Wall" — a near-vertical drop of unforgiving moguls which is not to be taken lightly.

Morzine Ski Resort

Morzine Town

One of the larger resorts in France, Morzine village itself is the perfect balance of traditional Savoyarde charm with plenty of evening entertainment for those who want it. The local architecture remains true to its heritage (with Alpine chalets being the predominant form of accommodation), and although English is understood and used in all quarters, French remains the lingua franca for those who live in resort year-round.

When it comes to aprés ski bars and restaurants, there is something to suit all ages, tastes and budgets. The atmosphere of the village is friendly and welcoming. In a resort this size, the regular bus service will be especially appreciated among the many who book accommodation on the outer reaches of the resort. Visitors are advised to check the location of their chalet before booking.

Situated just over an hour from Geneva, Morzine is very easily accessible, making it especially popular for ski weekends and short breaks.

Getting to Morzine

If you are flying to Morzine or Les Gets then we would highly recommend you fly into Geneva (GVA) airport. Geneva airport is 73 kilometres from Morzine or Les Gets and has a transfer time of about one hour ten minutes. A lot of this is on motorway. This is the route almost everyone who flies in takes.

Lyon (LYS) airport is 199 kilometres from Morzine or Les Gets but It is usually better to avoid Lyon if possible as there are far fewer transfer options available.

Please let us know when you have booked your flights and we can arrange to have your transfers all ready and waiting for you when you land. We do not charge extra for organising this for you.

Super organisationAn excellent trip all round. Super organisation including having the transfers, ski pass and equipment all ready on arrival. Loved the location - only 5 minutes by free bus to either Morzine or Avoriaz (Prodains), giving great access to the Portes du Soleil region. Well looked after by Nina and Paul. Would certainly like to return at some point.

A real home away from homeI've been using TSG company for 4 years, and have been on more than 14 holidays with them. Organisation and communication always been excellent, but this year really stood out thanks to our hosts, Paul and Nina. They were absolutely amazing — so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely lovely. The food was outstanding throughout the week, and the cakes were on another level — something I genuinely looked forward to every afternoon. The chalet was always warm clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere they created made it feel like a real home away from home. It's hosts like Paul and Nina that keep me coming back year after year and multiple times in a season.

Every moment was memorableI had an absolutely wonderful time at Chalet Chery des Meuniers in January 2026! The hosts, Paul and Nina, were incredible, so kind, helpful, and welcoming. Every meal they prepared was delicious, and as someone with dietary restrictions, I was thrilled to have so many options and enjoy my holiday without any limitations. As a solo traveler, one of the highlights of joining a group trip like this is meeting new people, and the fellow guests did not disappoint. The evenings hold a special place in my heart, whether it was playing games, impromptu dance class, or simply sharing laughs together, every moment was memorable. As other reviews have mentioned, the chalet is only a short bus ride away from Morzine and Avoriaz so it's easy to get either slopes to ski. I simply can't recommend this trip, the hosts and the chalet enough.

Would recommendHad a great Ski Gatherings trip over the Xmas break, staying at Chalet Chery in Morzine. Chalet Host Savoie team Paul and Nina were excellent, exceptionally helpful and friendly and served tasty, hearty food daily plus and a great Chrimbo dinner. Chalet located a bit out of Morzine town, but a regular free bus service meant we had good access to the ski lifts of Avoriaz and Morzine. Would recommend.

Everything exceeded my expectations.First time skiing solo, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The resort, the people — everything exceeded my expectations. The staff were fantastic, the food was above average, and for one of the more budget-friendly options, it was incredible value. Made some great friends along the way, and I'll definitely be back.

Highly recommend and will be back again!Great solo travel trip with The Ski Gathering/Host Savoie, it's a brilliant concept for solos/couples/small groups who can't fill a whole chalet. The week we were in was the budget week, so no afternoon tea (which I would have liked to have seen included), but the food was good in the evenings and at breakfast. Everything you need in a chalet in Morzine plus the bus stop just outside. Highly recommend and will be back again!

I cannot rate it enough! This year Feb 2025 was my 3rd time ever doing a solo trip with The Ski Gathering. I cannot rate it enough! The locations are great, but for me, the option of them sorting out ABSOLUTELY everything (minus booking of flights), is why I'll keep using them as a ski holiday provider. The chalets are lovely, the meals provided are great, the ease of contacting (and response) is second to none. Pricing is super competitive also. Definitely looking forward to booking for ski seasons to come :-)

It couldn't really have been better.I stayed at Chalet Le Prele for 4 nights earlier this month. It was my first time skiing outside of SnowDomes in the UK so I was quite apprehensive but the group were lovely and took me under their wing - we stuck together and went out skiing together each day. As for the chalet experience, it couldn't really have been better. There was homemade cake waiting at the end of each day of skiing, and dinner was always delicious. Kath and Anna (our hosts) were super friendly and always happy to offer helpful tips about the area or answer any questions we had. The room was comfortable and clean. I wouldn't hesitate to return another year. Thank you Host Savoie for an amazing first time ski experience :)

Amazing personalized serviceDue to travel complications, I arrived in the chalet at 2am in the morning and the manager was waiting for me to show me my room, to warm up food for me, to keep me company. It was the softest landing I could wish for after the horrible travel experience.

The Chalet was greatI stayed at the Chalet Prele on a 4 day short trip. The Chalet was great, very spacious and in a great location. You can get a bus across the road that one way goes to the lift in Avoriaz and the other down to Morzine (both reached in 5 mins). The chalet hosts were very friendly and attentive and go out of their way to make sure you're happy. The Ski gathering group was very friendly and everyone skied together. Only drawbacks I can think of were the coffee machines taking ages to work in the morning and the boot drying rack only had 6 or so spaces so people had to swap boots over throughout the evening but it was not a big issue.
