Les Arcs Skiing

Les Arcs is located in the picturesque Rhone-Alpes region of the French Alps, known for its exceptional skiing and ability to cater to all visitors. Since 2003, Les Arcs has been directly connected to the La Plagne area via the Vanoise Express, forming Paradiski, the second largest linked ski area in the world.

Paradiski invites you to explore over 425 kilometers (264 miles) of skiable terrain, with options for every level of skill and experience. Whether you're seeking impeccably groomed slopes or thrilling off-piste adventures, the area offers a limitless array of options for every ski and snowboard fanatic.

Les Arcs For Beginners:

If you're just finding your feet in the world of skiing, the Les Arcs pass, covering the 225km of pistes available within the Les Arc resort, will give you ample terrain and variety to fill your ski week. If you're at a level beyond beginner, then the full Paradiski pass gives incredible access to all 425km of pistes across both resorts (Les Arcs and La Plagne).

Les Arcs For Intermediates / Advanced

While first time intermediates to Les Arcs might get satisfaction from a week long Les Arcs pass, those that are staying longer or are at an advanced level will certainly want to book a Paradiski pass. Here, you'll have the option of 260 pistes, over 140 ski lifts and two snowparks — perfect for snowboarders and freestyle skiers alike.

Les Arcs for Off-Piste

Even with its reputation as a skiing paradise, you'll find the snow in Les Arcs will stay fresh longer into the day than most other resorts. This is especially true at higher altitudes — in areas such as the Grand Col, and Arc 1800. The Grand Col takes you above 2500 meters, and opens to one red and one black run, and the off-piste sections that surrounds them. From the top of the Vagere lift in Arc 1800, you'll find plenty of untracked powder, close to the red runs of Vagere and Golf. If you can get there quickly enough after a heavy snowdump — the Peisey-Vallandry areas have some decent, and somewhat safer, off-piste options. In the La Plagne side of the resort there is plenty more off-piste to discover, including the infamous 'Petit Face Nord' on the north face of the glacier.

Les Arcs Villages

Les Arcs is a purpose built ski resort, that combines six self-contained villages. The resort has an impressive snow record during the months of December through to April, and attracts skiers of all ages and abilities.

Plan Peisey, neighbouring Peisey Village and Vallandry are situated very close to the Vanoise Express lift at the heart of Paradiski, giving great access to all that Les Arcs and La Plagne have to offer. With a relaxed and traditional feel, but with all the amenities you would need, they are great areas to base yourself from if the skiing itself is the priority for your time in the Alps.

You'll find family friendly amenities throughout Les Arcs, but especially in Arc 1800, with a kid's practice area, numerous toboggan runs and a water park. Arc 1800 is also renowned for its après-ski, with an abundance of bars and restaurants dotted throughout.

Another family hotspot is Arc 1600. This is the original resort of the Les Arcs and has quieter and more relaxed atmosphere than its higher altitude equivalents. 1600 is ideal for beginners, families and anyone looking for accommodation on the more budget-friendly end of the scale.

You'll find the most stylish and modern resort of Les Arc in Arc 1950 — having been completed as recently as 2007, from the same team that developed Copper Mountain in Colorado, and Mont Tremblant and Whistler in Canada. Thanks to its higher altitude and modern design, 1950 offers some of the most snow-sure conditions and top of the range amenities including a spa, and a ski-through shopping area!

Arc 2000 is all about the skiing! Featuring a large number of self-catered properties, with a few catered chalets dotted throughout, the majority of which are ski-in/ski-out. High altitude, ease of access skiing at its finest, with plenty of off-piste options right at your doorstep — Arc 2000 is an advanced skier's Mecca.

Exceeded every expectationI've just returned from an incredible 3-day, 4-night trip to France with The Ski Gathering, and it exceeded every expectation. Belinda was our host and set the tone from the moment we arrived, welcoming, organised, and always making sure everyone felt included and relaxed. Olive, our chalet host, was absolutely wonderful. She cooked delicious meals every day and looked after us with such warmth and care that the chalet quickly felt like home. I travelled with my son, who has been 3 times before and loves it so much that he encouraged me to join him this year, especially as I'm turning 50 and wanted to do something memorable. I'm so glad I said yes. The atmosphere was friendly, supportive, and full of laughter, and it was a joy to share the experience with him. If you're considering a solo or shared-group ski holiday, I couldn't recommend The Ski Gathering more. It's the perfect blend of great people, great hosting, and a truly unforgettable few days in the mountains.

No one is left outMy third time with Ski Gathering and yet again it did not disappoint! New accommodation was great - smack in the centre of Les Gets. The catering was excellent & plentiful with great wines to accompany. What makes Ski Gathering so special is the team. Chalet staff were great and really helpful but Belinda is the star. She utterly looks after you from organising trips to making sure no one is left out. 5 stars - I totally recommend.

Surpassed my already high expectations! This was my first trip with The Ski Gathering and to the Porte du Soleil and both surpassed my already high expectations! Olivia & Ella were attentive chalet hosts and struck that elusive balance between professionalism & informality. The food was rustic & fresh, cakes with afternoon tea were delicious & local wines and beer plentiful. I had a cosy corner aspect room to myself with a view over Les Gets high street, although ear plugs are recommended if a light sleeper! Belinda took great care of us out on the slopes, as well as being a good laugh! I thoroughly enjoyed her expert guiding and my skiing came on as well. Last but not least I shared the chalet with a fabulous bunch of people! What more could I have asked for & when can I sign up for next year?!

It won't be my last! This was my second week in Les Gets with The Ski Gathering and I'm sure it won't be my last! Olivia and Ella did a brilliant job of looking after us all in Chalet des Pistes which is very conveniently located above a ski hire shop and just a stones throw from the main Chavannes lift... fresh cooked porridge, eggs and bacon each morning, delicious cakes for afternoon tea and lovely hearty dinners in the evening (with an endless supply of beer and wine to keep us well shielded from dry January!!) One of the major benefits of a Ski Gathering holiday in Les Gets is Belinda - resort manager extraordinaire - who seemingly has an ability to be in 3 places at once, can do admin anywhere and knows the answer to pretty much any question, however weird and wonderful it might be!!

What a great experience! This was my first time booking with ski gathering so I had no idea what to expect. What a great experience! Totally exceeded my expectations. Belinda was excellent in resort, getting us all organised and giving us great info and insider tips (and joining us for a really fun filled day on the slopes). A fantastic group of likeminded skiers and boarders. Chalet la fine was a good base, full of charm but with modern touches like comfy beds and good shower. Phoebe looked after us all really well and the food was great quality. I suspect this will not be my last trip with ski gathering!

I'm so glad I did!January 2026 Over 50s Ski Gathering at The Alpine Lodge/Loft, Les Gets. I was very keen to ski this year but had no-one to go with so, after scanning for options on the internet, I thought I'd trial The Ski Gathering … and I'm so glad I did! The accommodation was great - well kept, spacious and warm, and only a five minute walk to the Chavannes lift, and the ski hire shop (where we could leave our kit). Our chalet hosts Micah, Rosie and Olive looked after us well, including serving the brilliant meals prepared by chef Raphael. Belinda ,who heads up the Ski Gathering, made sure we were all sorted for the slopes by arranging ski hire, lift passes etc, and providing useful local knowledge. We were a mixed group of 16, aged between our mid-50s to 70s. Over half of the group already knew each other from previous Ski Gathering holidays, which they had enjoyed so much that they'd come back, time and again. If you are a solo skier don't let this dissuade you from coming along; The group was very inclusive, and there was always someone to ski with. The evenings were sociable and entertaining because we sat around en-masse, enjoying chats and the odd glass of wine (or two!) (There were also private spaces where you could have quiet time too). I did morning ski school (intermediate) with 4 of the other ladies from the chalet, and in the afternoon we met up with others from our chalet to ski. Les Gets has, in my opinion, some fab pistes for both beginners and intermediates, and a local ski pass was enough for some good adventures over the week. If, like me, you are looking for a solo ski holiday because your partner and friends don't ski, then I would suggest that The Ski Gathering is a great choice.

Another amazing experienceI've just returned from my second trip with The Ski Gathering and had another amazing experience. Chalet La Fine was lovely with great food, a warm, cosy atmosphere, and a sauna. The chalet host Phoebe was friendly and helpful and Belinda the resort rep was once again, an absolute super-woman with ensuring everything is organised. I met a great group of people and had the best time on the slopes and during apres! I've no doubt there will be another future trip with Ski Gathering!

Thank you so much everyone!Well, I enjoyed my trip with the Ski Gathering last year so much that I went again this year, and once again, I'm glad I did. Splendidly cared for by Olivia, Ella, Emma, and the peerless Belinda, I arrived on Jan 11th as a depressed, bitter old snowboarder, and after a week on the pistes with total strangers (bar two others from last year), left on the 18th as a cheerful, optimistic, bitter old snowboarder. Thank you so much everyone!

Making new friends is always funThis is my 4th week with the Ski Gathering in Les Gets in an over 50's week. Varied skiing whatever your ability. Great food, wine, beautiful chalet and many laughs. My bedroom was a bit small. We were looked after really well by Micah, Oli and Rosie - thanks all. The food was fabulous and chef Raphael's enthusiasm is contagious. Meeting lots of different people from various backgrounds and making new friends, is always fun. And then there's Belinda - always efficient and helpful (and the occasional ski guiding, sharp wit and p#ss taking come free, apparently)! I'll be back...
