About the Festival What the 1er Ski Beginners Festival is all about

In March 2027, Les Gets will host a resort-wide celebration of beginner skiing for the second time. Mornings are for ESF group lessons (ski or snowboard); afternoons and evenings bring organised activities, music and socials across the resort. With everything arranged in advance, this is a welcoming, low-stress way to start skiing or snowboarding, whatever your age.

• Is this suitable for complete beginners?

  Yes. Morning lessons are ESF beginner groups and the whole programme is built around first-timers. You'll be with others starting at the same level.

• Is there an age limit?

  No. Adult skiers of all ages are welcome. Lesson groups are based on ability and pace, not age. Choose the chalet that best matches your preferred social vibe (e.g. 18 to 30 age group, 30 to 50, mixed). On the snow, everyone progresses at their own level. And when it comes to live music and socials, join in as much or as little as you like.

• What exactly is included in the package?

  Accommodation, Bed & Breakfast, 7 nights of evening meals with all-inclusive drinks in the chalet, 6-day Les Gets-Morzine lift pass, 6 mornings of ESF beginner lessons (approx. 10:00-12:30), 6 days ski hire, and the afternoon/evening festival programme including ice rink evening, sledging, live music and much more.

• Are flights included?

  Flights aren't included. Book to/from Geneva Airport (GVA) to align with the festival's dates and we'll handle transfers and everything in resort.

• What are the lesson times and how are groups set?

  ESF beginner group lessons run approximately 10:00-12:30, Sunday to Friday. Groups are organised by level/pace and confirmed on arrival. Skiers and snowboarders are placed in separate groups, each with instructors specialised in their discipline.

• Do I need to arrange equipment?

  No. Standard skis, boots, poles (or snowboard and boots) and helmet are included for six days of hire — all handled for you.

• What happens if the weather affects activities?

  Activities may be adjusted for safety or conditions. Any changes are posted on the daily schedule and communicated by your host.

• Can snowboarders join?

  Absolutely. If you're a beginner snowboarder or want to give it a first go, you're more than welcome to join the festivities. Skiers and snowboarders are placed in separate groups, each with instructors specialised in their discipline.

• What if I don't ski or snowboard?

  You're also more than welcome to join in, even only off the slopes. You can purchase a "Companion Pack" that includes all the activities which are non-skiing related. Just get in touch to find out more.

• Is there much to do off the slopes?

  Yes — from sledging and guided walks to the ice rink party or live music, there's a full social programme every afternoon and evening. Join in as much or as little as you like.

• What is Après-Ski?

  Literally the French term for "after skiing", après-ski is the time to celebrate a day on the slopes after your last run. Hit the bars as soon as the lifts stop, or anytime after lunch really — you're on holiday after all!
