A white Christmas

What better setting can there be for a magical Christmas Day than an Alpine chalet blanketed in thick white snow, surrounded by glistening tree-tops? After a leisurely breakfast, head out and enjoy the world-class skiing right on your doorstep. The log fire will be roaring when you return for mince pies. Christmas doesn't get much merrier than this.

Everything taken care of

It's Christmas, so relax and let us do all the hard work for you. No slaving in the kitchen: we'll have dinner ready for you after your day on the slopes. You won't have to lift a finger. Anything we can do to make your Christmas even better? Please tell us about it. No hassle, no stress — just a relaxing and sociable Christmas day with like-minded people. Good company, great food, world-class skiing.

A shared chalet for sociable individuals

Share a Chalet

Our chalets are all available on a shared basis, so it doesn't matter how small your group is - most of our guests are couples or individuals travelling alone. For an individual or solo skier, this means you avoid the single supplement by sharing your room with other skiers and snowboarders just like yourself.

Meet like-minded Skiers

Our holidays offer company when you want it, freedom when you don't. Staying in our chalets, you have the option of mixing and socialising with other grown-up skiers and boarders during the evenings in the chalet and in the daytimes on the slopes. This goes whether you're travelling alone, as a two, or in a small group.

Ideal for Mixed Abilities

The Ski Gathering is also perfect for pairs of skiers who have different levels of experience, or simply different interests on the mountains. Some days, you can each join in with separate groups to suit your own level and then meet back up afterwards to share your stories from your day on the slopes.

Skiing on Christmas Day

Morning

When you wake, head downstairs for a tasty Christmas breakfast. The ski lifts and ski schools all run as normal today so, whenever you're ready, just head for the slopes. Unforgettable white-Christmas skiing awaits...

On the Slopes

The choice is yours: ski with the group or do your own thing. Some like to form small groups of similar experience levels or interests; others like to strike out on an adventure of their own. It's completely up to you.

Evening & Dinner

Meet for a Christmas tipple at the aprés ski, or head back to the chalet to get the first slice of Christmas cake. A delicious Christmas dinner awaits — you won't have to lift a finger. Then, grab a festive drink with the rest of the gang, or hit the hay ready for tomorrow's ski adventure.

Adults-only Christmas Ski Holidays

No children or families

Kids are great fun, but there are lots of reasons why grown-up company might be preferable, especially at Christmas. That's why The Ski Gathering offers exclusively adults-only ski holidays. Meet friendly people, experience world-class skiing, enjoy good grown-up company.

Shared chalet

The Ski Gathering is ideal for individuals and pairs looking to share a chalet at Christmas. Many chalet companies do not offer shared chalets Christmas week, favouring large groups who will take exclusive use. But that leaves out all the single skiers and the small groups of two or three who would like a catered ski holiday, but can't fill a chalet on their own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who will be there?

You will be sharing the chalet with individuals and pairs of skiers and snowboarders. There will be a full range of abilities from day-one beginners to seasoned veterans of the slopes. Good company when you want it, total freedom when you don't.

Is this a dating holiday?

No. The Ski Gathering does not offer "dating ski holidays" or "ski holidays for singles", as such. Instead, we tend to think of our ski trips as shared chalet holidays for individual skiers and sociable solo travelers.

Can couples come along?

Absolutely, sociable couples and pairs are very welcome. Just ask us for your own double or twin room (n.b. all rooms are single-sex except by request by mixed-sex couples). Enjoy time as a two when you want to, join the rest group when it suits.

Is this a Christmas Holiday?

Yes, with jingle bells on. The chalet will be decorated, there will be Christmas treats, a traditional dinner, the works. That said, if Christmas isn't your thing, nobody will be telling you how to have fun. There are no formal or pre-arranged group activities. Just good company, great skiing and Christmas in a winter cabin. What's not to love?

How is this different from a regular shared chalet?

Firstly, we offer adults-only ski holidays, so there are no children or teenagers. Perhaps more importantly, everyone who books has chosen to share their ski holiday with other outgoing and friendly people.

Will my extras be organised for me?

Yes, just let us know what you need and we will get everything sorted for you, hassle-free. We can arrange your lift pass, your ski hire and your ski lessons, if applicable. Happy to help.

Our Ski Resorts

Main ski descent into Morzine village

Morzine

Morzine is a lively, adult-friendly ski resort suited to all abilities, beginner or advanced. Situated in the heart of the world-renowned Portes du Soleil ski area, Morzine gives amazing access to some of the world's very best skiing, as well as its most integrated lift infrastructure. Beginners benefit from top-rate ski schools and steady blues running right into the resort centre. For a challenge, more advanced skiers and snowboarders head up the Chamoisiere for a nail-biting red or a thigh-burning black. Then, all meet up in any of Morzine's fantastic bars for a full debriefing at aprés ski.

Morzine
Les Gets Ski Resort

Les Gets

Les Gets is the definitive picture-postcard resort. If it is perhaps a little quieter than neighbouring Morzine, or our other resort of Meribel, this should be weighed against the traditional Savoyarde charm the village retains, not to mention the world-class skiing it offers. Les Gets is a dream destination for sociable groups with mixed abilities, offering plenty of convenient loops and tree-lined circuits, allowing the group to disperse and reconverge frequently and naturally throughout the day's skiing. Finish the day in the open-air aprés ski bar at the foot of the slopes.

Les Gets
Bansko ski resort

Bansko

Bulgaria's most popular ski destination, Bansko is arguably best known for the very good value it offers visitors. But there's much more to love than just the price tag. It's ideal for beginners and intermediates, with plenty of blues and reds to enjoy. After years of multi-million investment, Bansko now boasts the best lift infrastructure to be had anywhere in Bulgaria. It also offers the best snow, with good coverage from mid-December to mid-May. Traversing the Pirin National Park, Bansko skiing reaches heights over 2,500m. That's a vertical drop of over 1,500m.
